For years, Wood County law enforcement officials and tavern owners have worked together to get the word out that people can have a good time New Year's Eve without driving drunk.

The efforts seem to be working. On Dec. 31, 2011, and Jan. 1, 2012, Wood County Sheriff's Department deputies made two drunken driving arrests. Wisconsin Rapids officers also made two arrests during the same two days.
