The city debuted the newly completed Riverwalk's wildlife viewing pier on Monday, the second phase of the project that is expected to annually see 200,000 visitors and help generate $1.9 million.

Mayor Mike Walsh opened the pier to members of the public to show the 315-foot pier, which extends into the Fox River and De Pere dam.

"This is the crowning jewel of entire project," Walsh said. "We wanted to get everyone out to come see it, and hopefully people will come out in the spring ... and see the spawning that will be going on here with the fish. ... It is very unusual for the entire state of Wisconsin ...
