Point Beach Nuclear Plant and Manitowoc County Emergency Management plan a test of emergency warning sirens on Wednesday.
Four tests will be conducted, in addition to the alert test done on the first Wednesday of each month. Tests will be three minutes and take place at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The one-minute monthly test will take place at noon.
The plant invested nearly $500,000 in 15 new emergency outdoor warning sirens within its 10-mile Emergency Planning Zone.
The sirens can be used for nuclear plant issues or severe weather warnings.
