Packers offensive coordinator Tom Clements said the Chicago Bears have requested and received permission to interview him for their vacant head-coaching job.

Clements didn't say when the interview will take place. Teams in the wild-card round of the playoffs don't have to allow their assistant coaches to interview for head-coaching positions until after their season is finished, though if they advance to the divisional round they can allow him to interview during the week of the divisional round of the playoffs, or, if they advance that far, during the bye week before the Super Bowl.

"The only thing Iíll say is theyíve requested permission and permission was granted," Clements said, "and thatís it. I have no comment beyond that."
