Fire departments in Portage County haven't changed bulbs on the wreath on their fire stations since Dec. 14.

The means there hasn't been a structure fire since that day, the last in the county's Keep the Wreath Green Campaign.

During the campaign, which ended at midnight Monday, fire departments throughout the county display a wreath on their fire stations with green bulbs. The goal is to keep all the bulbs green - bulbs are changed to red whenever there is a fire during the campaign. ...
