Letter: Late organist touched many lives

It was with great sadness that our choir learned of the passing of Ken Slicker just before Christmas.

Ken was our dedicated organist for the past 13 years and was one of the most talented musicians around. He became ill and was distraught at not being able to play for us this Christmas as he had done Christmas services for the past 63 years at either St. Joseph's or St. Peter's Catholic churches. That in itself is the legacy he left behind as well as the many Masses, services, weddings, and funerals he played for. He gave of his time, talent, and treasure as no other we knew.

Few people have touched so many lives as he had in the Stevens Point area. He became a father figure and friend to many. For those of us who knew him well, we know he is at peace with his beloved Therese, but will certainly be missed. Peace, Ken.
