School Board president won't seek re-election

Stevens Point Area Public School Board President Dwight Stevens won't seek re-election this spring, while seven other candidates will run for four available seats.

Incumbents Lisa Totten and Kim Shirek will appear on the April 2 ballot along with former board members Jeff Presley and Lynda Louis, as well as candidates Sam Levin, Jeff Ebel and Terry Rothmann. Candidates had until Wednesday to file nomination papers.

Karlyn Krautkramer, administrative assistant to the district's director of business services, said there won't be a primary because of the number of seats up for election. ...
