Prosecutors say lab results expected later this month could shed more light on a Social Security fraud case in Portage County.

Charles Jost, 66, of Amherst, along with 71-year-old Ronald Disher and 69-year-old Dolores Disher, were due in court Wednesday for a pretrial conference. The three are accused of cashing their presumably dead mother's Social Security checks and keeping the money. Marie Jost, who would be more than 100 years old if alive today, is missing, and authorities presume she's dead because she hasn't used her Medicare benefits since the 1980s.
