Sheriff's wife may be near plea deal on drug charges, attorney says

A former Marathon County probation and parole agent, who also is the sheriff's wife, could be close to reaching a plea deal with prosecutors on multiple felony charges of stealing prescription medication from the clients she supervised, according to her attorney.

Kim M. Hoenisch, a former probation agent with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections in Wausau, was fired two days before formal charges were filed against her on Dec. 21.
