Homeless shelter moves some residents to St. Norbert College

On a day of reflection for homeless people who have died on the streets, Green Bay's embattled homeless shelter said more than a dozen of its residents have been displaced in a squabble with the city.

St. John the Evangelist Homeless Shelter said it has transferred residents to a vacant gymnasium at St. Norbert College to avoid $500-a-day fines being threatened by Green Bay city officials.

St. John spokeswoman Justine Lodl said the arrangement is temporary, but officials are grateful for St. Norbert's assistance until the college resumes classes Jan. 22 after a holiday break. ...
