Business growth transformed Lineville Road in the past decade from farm fields and woods to a major retail corridor.

Growth will continue, though wetlands between Velp Avenue and U.S. 41 could restrain more development there. Land east of U.S. 41 and west of Bay Port High School could offer opportunities.

"The entry into the Howard-Suamico area is going to be this corridor," said Jeffrey Noeldner, president of Midwest Expansion, a development company responsible for Urban Edge shopping center on Lineville east of Velp Avenue. "The problem you have, there's only so much land there." ...
