Barber surpasses 1,000 points in win

Senior Sam Barber (D.C. Everest/Winona St.) became the 19th Pointer to surpass the 1,000-point mark as the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point women defeated UW-Eau Claire 51-49 during WIAC action Saturday at Zorn Arena.

Barber needed just six points to reach the milestone entering the game. She also had seven rebounds during her solid performance.

"It's a great accomplishment to put up numbers like Sam has," Pointers coach Shirley Egner said. "She played well tonight and hit some big shots for us. ...
