Morning roundup: Big changes for Packers, 49ers since Week 1

Jan. 6, 2013

In the regular-season opener at Lambeau Field on Sept. 9, the San Francisco 49ers burst to a 23-7 lead against the Green Bay Packers on their way to a 30-22 victory.

It was the Packers' only home loss of the season, but the score wasn't as close as the final score indicated. The Packers needed a punt return for a touchdown by Randall Cobb to keep it relatively close.

But that was four months ago, and Rob Demovsky writes that these two teams are vastly different now: http://pck.rs/UyZ4TE

They will meet again in an NFC divisional playoff game in San Francisco at 7 p.m. Saturday. The winner advances to the NFC title game and will face the winner of the Seattle at Atlanta game taking place on Sunday.
