The Manitowoc Board of Education has offered a contract to Marcia Flaherty to serve as the new superintendent of the Manitowoc Public School District, according to board President Jim Protsman. The contract is being finalized and the board is expected to ratify it tonight. If the contract is approved, Flaherty will begin her new position July 1.

Flaherty has been the district's director of elementary and secondary education since 2009. She joined the district in 1993-94 as principal of Monroe Elementary School. The next year, she became principal of Riverview School, a position she held ...
