Wausau tourism leaders look to plant new signs throughout region

The city of Wausau is spending $350,000 on signs intended to point visitors and tourists to some of the area's prime attractions.

Wausau City Council members approved taking the cash from the capital improvement's budget and using it to help visitors find local jewels such as Athletic Park or The 400 Block.

A network of signs, stationed strategically on streets and medians throughout Marathon County, is necessary if the city is to build upon its growing tourism industry, Main Street Wausau Inc. Director Dawn Follendorf said. ...
