Packers pep rally planned for Friday

Organizers hope to have spoils of Minnesota wagers on hand

Green Bay Packers fans on Friday will be able to enjoy their second downtown pep rally this month - and possibly enjoy some grub courtesy of the Packers' most recent victim.

A pep rally is planned for 3:30 p.m. Friday on East Walnut Street in front of the Brown County Courthouse, said Jeff Mirkes, executive director of Downtown Green Bay Inc. He and representatives from the city and the county began planning the event this morning.

"We want to make sure there's the right mix of entertainment and hype," Mirkes said. "And we hope the winnings from the Minnesota bet will be here by then." ...
