Name: Kramer Stone

Residence: Wausau

Age: 20

Employment/School: Chang Garden/University of Wisconsin Marathon County

Family: Mother, Kathy Stone, and brother, Carson Stone

Years of service as a volunteer: 3

Favorite volunteer activities: I have volunteered in several different areas, but my two favorites would have to be special needs camp and the MS walk. This past summer, I volunteered at a special needs camp for Syble Hopp School in Green Bay. It was such a great experience getting to spend time and interact with the kids. Each one is so special and unique. It was even better for me being an education major. As for the MS Walk, I help set up and clean up, as well as participate in the walk. It is something that is close to my heart. I have a good friend who suffers from multiple sclerosis. I am so proud of her for fighting it every day, I will do anything I can to help her and the cause.

Tell about a volunteer experience: I recently volunteered as a gift wrapper at the mall for Bundles of Joy. I had such a good time talking to the people who would come to have their gifts wrapped, and knowing I was doing a good thing as I was having fun. I had a few people telling me about families, others asking how they could get involved in volunteering. What made it an even better experience was doing it with a friend, that and seeing how happy people were, being able to donate to such an amazing cause. Gift wrapping is something I have done in the past and something I hope to do in the future, as well.
