Cold weather brings out ice fisherman

It was cold enough to go ice fishing on New Year's Eve, about 11 degrees, and there were a few ice fishermen trying their luck on the ice-covered pond at Humbird County Park.

Brian Spindler, Trevor Spindler and Nick Landers from Fall Creek and Augusta arrived at the pond about 10 a.m., and in an hour they'd caught fish, a crappie and bluegill.

"They're biting slow," said Brian Spindler. "We fished a lot this summer. It's the first time this winter." ...
