Thursday practice report: Cobb and Nelson return

Jan. 10, 2013

Both Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb returned to practice on Thursday morning after sitting out on Wednesday with an ankle injury and illness, respectively.

Nelson came down with the ankle during the final moments of Saturday’s 24-10 win over Minnesota while Cobb practiced on Tuesday before being sent home with the flu bug that’s been permeating through the locker room over the last month.

Both were active during the portion of practice available to the media as were rookie wide receiver Jarrett Boykin (ankle) and safety Jerron McMillian (personal issue). The only player not practicing was defensive lineman Jerel Worthy, who’s out for the season with a knee injury.

Packers offensive coordinator Tom Clements was at practice, as well, with a reports circling that he’ll be interviewing for the Chicago Bears’ head-coaching vacancy today.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy is expected to meet with the media at approximately 12:30 p.m.
