While the results of the 2012 tobacco compliance checks in Marshfield aren't perfect like they were in 2011, the numbers continue to show retailers are serious about not selling products to minors.

The results are encouraging, said David Wille, central Wisconsin coordinator for Wisconsin Wins, a research-based campaign to reduce youth access to tobacco.

"Overall, in central Wisconsin, the message that identification needs to be checked has really resonated. Yet, in some areas, we still have work to do getting sellers to more closely inspect that identification," Wille said. ...
