Algoma Public Library and InfoSoup libraries are challenging all adult library card holders to read books and write reviews in 2013 for a chance to win prizes.
Although important in all stages of life, reading for enjoyment and knowledge is vitally important for adults. Reading can take a person on adventures to discover exotic cultures, introduce fresh ideas and concepts, and stimulate the senses. Even while reading for fun, adults benefit unconsciously by building memory retention, storytelling, grammar, and vocabulary skills. Reading can also bring people together through discussion of shared ideas. Making time to read may be difficult, but the benefits are well worth the sacrifice.
In 2013, make a resolution to challenge yourself to read. Your personal challenge might be to read one more book than you read last year or one book each month. Regardless of how much you read in 2013, Algoma Public Library and the InfoSoup libraries want to reward you for your efforts.
For each library book read and reviewed on the InfoSoup website, adult library card holders will be entered into drawings to win prizes throughout the year. Prizes include gift certificates to Amazon and Barnes & Noble, Nooks, and Kindles.
Let this be the incentive you need to start reading in 2013. For more information, a complete set of rules, and prize lists, visit www.InfoSoup.org and look for the Reading Challenge link. To find out how you can sign up for a library card, please contact Algoma Public Library.
