Tax preparation assistance available

Starting in February, volunteers will provide free tax preparation services to individuals with a gross income less than $58,000. Volunteers will prepare Homestead Credit and State and Federal taxes by appointment only, please no walk-ins.

On the day of your scheduled appointment, please bring the following items with you:

? A picture ID and social security card.

? Copy of your 2011 Homestead Credit or federal and state tax return.

? Medical/dental insurance premium.

? Pension statements.

? Any W-2s related to employment.

? Any 1099s related to interest and/or dividends.

? SSA-1099 Social Security Benefit statement.

? Property tax bill or rent certificate.

Please note if you had your Homestead Credit Tax Credit prepared by volunteers last year, and your credit was filed electronically, you MAY NOT receive a 2012 Homestead Credit booklet in the mail. They will be available to you on the day of your appointment.

To schedule an appointment, call Marshfield Area United Way at 715-384-9992. This service is offered by AARP, the city of Marshfield Parks & Recreation Department, Cellcom and Marshfield Area United Way. Volunteers are unable to prepare farm or rental income, health savings account deductions, etc.
