Police: Booze and Belts campaign a success

Wausau and Everest Metro Police officials say their extra efforts to crack down on impaired and unsafe drivers over the holiday season paid off with more than a dozen drunken driving arrests between the two agencies.

Both agencies participated in the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's annual Booze and Belts initiative, a campaign that aims to identify drugged or drunken drivers as well as drivers failing to buckle up by placing more officers on the road.
