Marchant Schmidt employee returns from recent deployment

Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) David King returned Dec. 22, from a six-month deployment in Afghanistan as the U.S. Army Senior Medical Logistics Officer.

In Afghanistan, LTC King was responsible for the accountability of $200 million in equipment and supplies; assisting units with identifying the material; returning items back to the United States; and donating material to the Afghanistan Military and Civilian Hospitals. His duties required him to travel throughout the country spending the majority of his time between Kabul, Bagram and Kandahar.

LTC King is a member of the U.S. Army Reserves assigned to the Office of The Surgeon General in Washington D.C.

King has been employed by Marchant Schmidt, Inc. in Fond du Lac for 14 years as a Material Control and Purchasing Manager. He lives in Appleton, with his wife and three children.
