It is wonderful to have the opportunity to say thanks to you our donors, for your generous support during our fall fundraising campaign.

Thanks to you we have met out goal! With your donations we are supporting 44 programs provided by 27 local agencies, impacting more than 20,000 lives right here in south Wood and Adams counties. This a tremendous impact!

Many of you attended our Thank You Celebration on Dec. 13, where we awarded our top workplace campaigns for participation and per capita giving, honored our Loyal Contributors and Leadership Givers as well as recognized our tireless campaign volunteers. It was great to come together to celebrate these successes.

Thanks to our generous sponsors, five lucky individuals were presented with $1,000 cash, when we awarded our New Dollars Grand Sweepstakes winners with their prizes. The winners are: Dan Cummins, ERCO Worldwide - prize sponsored by Rapids Ford-Lincoln, Curt Ruesch, NewPage Corp. - prize sponsored by Riverview Family Clinic, Darryl and Joyce Clauson, retired - prize sponsored by WoodTrust Bell Foundation, Danna Peterson, Adams-Friendship Schools - prize sponsored by Heartland Farms Inc. and Jacqueline Jones, RockTenn - prize sponsored by Timber Shores.

This effort to draw new, undesignated dollars to our campaign did just that, resulting in more than $80,000 for the south Wood County campaign and more than $10,000 for Adams County campaign.

I also had the great honor to work with our 2012 Campaign Chairman Dr. John Clark. John did an amazing job of promoting United Way, advancing our mission and encouraging giving. I am grateful for all of the time and expertise that John shared with us this year. He is truly an asset to our entire community.

Thank YOU to everyone who is working to create lasting change in our communities.

Tari Jahns is chief executive officer of the United Way of Inner Wisconsin.
