Dorchester food supplier introduces nutrient-rich dairy products

New Dorchester-based company Omega Valley Farmers LLC announced at its grand opening event Thursday that it is working with local dairies to introduce a line of Omega-3-fortified food products to consumers' tables.

Omega-3 fatty acids promote heart health, reduce risk for certain cancers, prevent inflammation and boost immune system function, according to information on the company's website. They are not produced by the human body but are found in marine and plant oils.
