Each week, Press-Gazette Media will recognize outstanding prep basketball achievements with the American Family Insurance all-Press-Gazette Media performances of the week. Here are the selections for the week of Jan. 7 to Jan. 12.

Boys basketball performance of the week

Pulaski junior Luke VanLanen tallied a game-high 18 points and came down with numerous rebounds against a much taller De Pere squad to help the Red Raiders hand the Redbirds their first conference loss of the season in a 59-51 victory on Jan. 11.

Girls basketball performance of the week

Green Bay Southwest junior Samm Pedersen scored 15 points in victories at Green Bay Preble on Jan. 8 and against Green Bay East on Jan. 11 to make up for the loss of the Trojans' leading scorer Natisha Hiedeman, who was out with an arm injury.

Honorable mention boys performances

Green Bay East's Antonio Ford scored a game-high 36 points, including 20 in the fourth quarter, in a loss against Pulaski on Jan. 8. The senior guard knocked down seven 3-pointers.

Ashwaubenon sophomore Kyle Monroe posted a game-high 26 points to help the Jaguars knock off undefeated Sheboygan North with a 77-49 victory on Jan. 8

Algoma's Jake Wiese made 12 3-pointers to account for all 36 of his points in a pair of road victories last week. The senior guard burried five treys in a 58-39 win against Gillett on Jan. 8 and followed it with seven 3s as the Wolves topped Gibraltar 63-47 on Jan. 11.

Honorable mention girls performances

Bay Port senior Chelsea Nooker posted 12 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals to help the Pirates pull out a 40-38 against Sheboygan North on Jan. 11 to remain unbeaten in Fox River Classic Conference play.

Kewaunee senior Alex Richard scored 16 of her game-high 22 points in the second half as the Storm rolled to a 60-28 victory at Southern Door on Jan. 8.

Wrightstown junior Kayla Chosa combined for 18 points, 17 rebounds, five blocks and three steals in victories against Manitowoc Lutheran (Jan. 8) and at Valders (Jan. 10) to help the Tigers remain atop the Olympian Conference.
