? Michelle Meacham, Sturgeon Bay, spoke about social media in the financial services industry at the Public Relations Society of America's annual international conference.
? Navarino Nature Center earned the Department of Tourism's Travel Green Wisconsin certification. The Shawano County nature center reduced its environmental footprint by two-thirds through renewable energy usage (solar and geothermal), and waste recycling programs supported by employees and visitors.
? Tom Olejniczak received Wisconsin Business Development's Darwin Nelson Community Service Award. Olejniczak was recognized for assisting small business and community programs. Olejniczak is a managing partner at Liebmann, Conway, Olejniczak & Jerry, and has practiced business law for more than 35 years. He is president of the NEW Community Shelter and a board member of Casa ALBA Melanie-Hispanic Community Resource Center of Green Bay. He is a longstanding member of Green Bay Packers board of directors and former chairman of the St. Norbert College board of trustees.
? Registered nurse Mary Schlorf, Oconto Falls, received the Community Memorial Hospital Living Our Values award. She works in CMH Employee Health Services and Prevea WorkMed.
? Schneider National, transportation, logistics and inter-modal services provider based in Ashwaubenon, was named to the 2013 G.I. Jobs Top 100 Military-Friendly Employers list for the seventh consecutive year. Schneider, ranked 12, was recognized for programs and benefits offered to past and present military personnel.
? Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Green Bay, honored caregivers for their contributions to advancing research and medical education. Corey Haines, M.D., was named medical educator of the year. Tammy Krueger received the curriculum development award. Dhimant Patel, M.D., received the medical research innovation award in oncology. Wesley Griffitt, M.D., won the medical research innovation award in neurosurgery. Also honored: Brian Dobbins, M.D., and Robert Southwick, M.D., principal investigators in women's health; and Sarah Fenton, M.D., principal investigator in cardiology. The new medical education departments in neurology, neurosurgery, and sports medicine departments, were also recognized.
? Monroe BioTechnology, Green Bay, received the 2012 Orthotics and Prosthetics Group of America/POINT Freedom Award for compassionate service and dedication to veterans and active-duty soldiers. POINT Health Centers of America recognizes members who provide orthotic and prosthetic fitting and/or rehabilitation for soldiers wounded in action.
