Local talent showcased at Kiwanis' Oshkosh Talent Untapped

Oshkosh Talent Untapped - the premiere talent competition for the Fox Valley - will feature singing, dancing, magic, comedy, theatre, instrumentals and baton twirling as contestants take to the stage Friday, Jan. 25 at 5:30 p.m.

The event, presented by the Mid-Morning Kiwanis Club at the Oshkosh Convention Center, includes youth, adult and semi-pro divisions and supports educational grants to area teachers and graduating seniors. Additional sponsors include UWO Circle K, Lourdes Academy and BMO Harris Bank.

The show features the top contestants in each division. Esteemed judges and the audience will decide each division winner. Cash prizes totaling $1,800 will be awarded.

Contestants in the youth division include Matt Beecher, Oshkosh West High School, musical theatre; Alexi Charneski, Oshkosh West, baton twirling; Sarah Delfosse and Kelsey Phillips, Oshkosh North High School, vocal duet; Emily Jackson, Laconia High School, vocals; Alek Sobojinsky, Lourdes Academy, piano; and Grace Subat, Oshkosh North, vocals.

The adult division includes Janna Hall, piano; Alyssa Kreitzman, vocals; John Murphy, vocals/guitar; Samantha Phillip, vocals; and Courtney Reynolds, vocals/guitar.

In the semi-pro division, contestants include Cassie Boettcher, guitar/vocals; Jamar Jones, vocals; Melissa Lee, piano/vocals; Mike Schroeder, magician; and One Button Short Quartet, vocals.

Dinner reservations are $50 per person or $495 per corporate table. Tables seat eight. Individual tickets cost $15 for the show only. Reservations can be made by mailing a check to Oshkosh Mid-Morning Kiwanis, PO Box 554, Oshkosh, WI 54903 or by calling (920) 230-1970 for more information.
