A proposed kindergarten program at city-owned Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary is prompting some Green Bay aldermen to question why the city should get involved in education.

The City Council agreed Tuesday to move forward with the concept of teaching 4-year-olds about wildlife and nature in partnership with the Green Bay School District.

But some aldermen voiced reservations about the city's role, which would include accepting state education funds and hiring the teacher for the program at Bay Beach. ...
