West De Pere Talent Show on Saturday

West De Pere High School will present an all-school Talent Show at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, in the school auditorium, 665 Grant St.

Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the door only.

The show is a fundraiser sponsored by West De Pere's Chamber Choir.

It will feature a variety of performances from students and staff as well as the Chamber Choir and the Concert Choir.

MLK community event at NWTC

The 18th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration in Brown County will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 19, in the Student Center at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, 2740 W. Mason St., Green Bay.

The free event will feature music, dancing, food and reflections on King's message. Awards will be presented for the annual K-12 poster, essay and poetry contest.

Members from St. Norbert College in De Pere are part of the community committee that organizes the event.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be observed nationally Monday, Jan. 21.

SNC hosts Miss Green Bay pageants

Miss Green Bay Area Pageant 2013 will be held starting at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at St. Norbert College's Walter Theatre, 315 Third St., De Pere.

The scholarship pageant is the local preliminary to the Miss Wisconsin and Miss America pageants for women 17 to 24.

The event also will include a pageant for Miss Green Bay Area Outstanding Teen 2013, which is open to girls 13 to 17.

The theme of this year's pageants is "Rock This Town."
