Globe trotter: Alex Guild will run for gold in snowshoes at World Winter Games

If not for that big body of water known as the Pacific Ocean between here and there, Alex Guild might have thought about skipping the upcoming air excursion and already been on his way by foot.

No distance seems to be too great for the young man who has been living up to his nickname, "The Energizer Bunny."

"I love to run. I've always liked to run," Guild said. "I just keep going and going and going. I do a half marathon in an hour and 45 minutes, and then I come home and I'm still running around in the backyard - just keeps going and going and going." ...
