Syble Hopp Winter Blast on Feb. 9
The Syble Hopp School Parent Organization will host the Winter Blast dinner fundraiser Saturday, Feb. 9, at Riverside Ballroom, 1560 Main St., Green Bay.
The event supports community-based instruction programs, Lions Camp, Special Olympics and many other unique opportunities available to special-needs students at Syble Hopp in De Pere.
The fundraiser will start at 5:30 p.m. Erin Davisson of WFRV-TV Channel 5 will be the guest emcee.
There will be a live auction conducted by Massart Auctioneers, bucket raffles, a silent auction featuring one-of-a-kind Syble Hopp student-made art and live entertainment by Piano Fondue dueling pianos.
Tickets are $35 per person and $280 for a reserved table of eight, which includes dinner and the show. Reservations for advanced ticket sales are due Wednesday, Jan. 23.

NWTC hosts free tech workshops today
Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay will hold Tech Buzz workshops that are open to the public from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17.
The free workshops will be in Room 213 in the Center for Business and Industry on the NWTC campus, 2740 W. Mason St. Attendees should park in Lot F.
The event will feature a variety of technology workshops, hands-on training and expert troubleshooting to help participants make the most of their smartphones, tablets or other electronics devices. The first 40 attendees will receive a canvas tote bag.

Mr. Titletown contest, fashion show Jan. 27
The fifth annual Mr. Titletown Competition - Formalwear Fashion Show, featuring students from several Brown County high schools, will be Sunday, Jan. 27, in the Three Clans Ballroom at Radisson Hotel & Conference Center, 2040 Airport Drive, Ashwaubenon.
The show will start at 2:15 p.m.; doors will open at 2 p.m. A prom boutique with local businesses will be available for viewing at 1 p.m.
The event is a fundraiser for Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce's Partners in Education Safe Prom/Grad Night Campaign. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the parent networks at Partners in Education schools.
"Mr. Man" representatives from the area high schools will compete for a $2,500 scholarship and the title of "Mr. Titletown" in the Mr. Titletown Competition. De Pere, West De Pere, Wrightstown, Notre Dame Academy and NEW Lutheran are among the participating schools.
The contestants will be judged by celebrity judges in three categories: Formalwear, Talent, and Questions & Answer.
The Formalwear Fashion Show will showcase the latest in this year's prom fashions by local models. The program also provides a career-exploration opportunity for student participants who are interested in modeling and fashion merchandising.
Advance tickets for the event, priced at $5, are being sold at participating high schools as well as at DuBois Formalwear locations, Elaine's and Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. Tickets will be $7 at the door.

Culture, language workshops at SNC
St. Norbert College in De Pere is offering non-credit culture and language workshops for adults from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 26.
The "Flying Start" workshops will give those who plan to travel abroad a taste of the language and the customs of specific countries. Workshops about China and Mexico are available.
The workshops will be held at Cofrin Hall on campus.
Registration for the workshops is $30 per person. The registration deadline is Friday, Jan. 18.
Children's language program starts Feb. 2
St. Norbert College will hold the "Passports to the World!" spring day camp for children ages 5 to 11.
The language-enrichment program includes classes such as "Sports and Spanish," "Asian Art and Culture Experience" and "French Conversations Around the World!"
Classes will meet for half days on Saturdays on the De Pere campus from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 2 to March 9.
Class size is limited to 10 students.
The cost for the entire six-week session is $95, which includes a T-shirt, instruction, materials and a completion certificate. The registration deadline is Monday, Jan. 21.
