Citing strong neighborhood opposition, members of the city Plan Commission voted 7-1 Wednesday night to recommend to the City Council denial of a request to rezone property on Cleveland Avenue from "R-5" to "B-1."

Financial advisor Nathan Raddatz is seeking to build a new 6,200-square-foot, two-story commercial office building in the 100 block of Cleveland Avenue near the intersection of Maritime Drive.

The issue now goes on the agenda of Monday night's City Council meeting where members can accept or reject the Plan Commission's recommendation or not take any action on the request. ...
