Letter: Community comes to aid of food pantry

7:44 PM, Jan. 15, 2013  |  Comments

This letter is to thank God for such a caring community and newspaper.

We represent several thousands of times people have come to receive the gift of food at our St. Martin de Porres Food Bank and our dining rooms in our homes that serve the homeless. As I go to sleep each night, without a worry about where my next meal will come from, or if my wife and 9 children will be fed, there are many in our community that do have those worries.

Because of the generosity of the Oshkosh Northwestern, and the many supporters of the "Stock the Shelves" campaign, these worries are eased for many families. The money raised and given to us has made it possible for us to add almost 50,000 pounds of food to our shelves.

In the name of those who worry about food for themselves and their family, I thank you good people of the Oshkosh Northwestern and the many who supported this good cause! God Bless You!
