Special Olympics Wisconsin has canceled the snowshoe and cross country ski competitions this weekend because of lack of snow at Nine Mile Recreation Area.

The opening ceremonies and dance scheduled for Saturday evening also has been canceled, according to a SOWI news release.

Nearly 40 alpine skiers and snowboarders will continue to participate in competitions at Granite Peak Ski Area from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. ...
