Badger State Games ready to kick off

New events and small adjustments have made a big impact on this year's Badger State Winter Games, which kicks off this weekend and runs through Feb. 3 as organizers hope Mother Nature smiles upon them.

"Overall, we are definitely on track to outpace last year for registrations," said Darien Schaefer, executive director of the Badger State Games. "Our only concern is Nordic skiing, because Nine Mile is closed, and we'd need six inches of good snow before it reopens and we can have our races there."
