First-quarter forecast hit by lower demand

Plexus Corp. missed its first-quarter 2013 revenue forecast, as it had warned investors one week ago, due to a drop-off in customer demand during the fiscal period ended Dec. 29.

The contract electronics manufacturer reported first-quarter revenues of $531 million, rather than the $550 million to $580 million projected in prior guidance reports. It had earnings per share of 47 cents, off from its expectation of 50 cents to 55 cents.
