Ledgers need just one perfect quarter in win

The St. Mary's Springs boys basketball team only needed one big quarter to beat Omro 44-36 on Thursday night at Hutter Gymnasium.

Darin Ward scored nine of his game-high 16 in the first period, including a dunk, and the Ledgers took an early 21-12 lead.

"I think the first quarter on both ends of the floor we reached our potential," said Springs coach Kyle Krueger. "Offensively we were clicking, we were hitting shots. Our defensive rotations were excellent in the press. After that we weren't hitting shots and we got out of our game plan of attacking the basket." ...
