Tax changes loom in 2013

The fiscal cliff debate in Washington, D.C., might have made your head spin about how your taxes will change for 2013.

"If you are below $400,000 (in income), there are very minimal changes between 2012 and 2013," said David Wysocki, a registered tax return preparer at Wysocki Tax and Accounting in Stevens Point.

The per-capita income in Portage County from 2007-11 was $25,207, meaning most people in the county are making less than $400,000 a year. The largest difference will be your Social Security tax. That will return to 6.2 percent after being lowered to 4.2 percent for 2011 and 2012. ...
