Plea agreement likely in Town of Dale theft case

The former clerk of the Town of Dale is disputing the amount of money authorities say she stole by using the town's credit cards.

Marcia A. Kelly, 68, appeared Thursday in Outagamie County Court, where she was expected to enter into a plea agreement. Instead, attorneys were granted more time to review records to determine how much Kelly would have to pay in restitution. She now claims some of her transactions were made for legitimate purposes.

Kelly, who is accused of making more than $48,000 in unauthorized transactions, is charged with 33 counts of theft and misconduct in office. Defense ...
