Purzner announces candidacy

11:18 AM, Jan. 17, 2013  |  Comments

Bonnie Purzner has announced her candidacy for West Kewaunee Town Clerk for the April 2 election.

Purzner has been the Kewaunee County deputy treasurer since Dec. 1, 2010, and said she has "a great working relationship with the clerks and treasurers of Kewaunee County." Prior to 2010, she was employed by Union State Bank for 15 years.

In the past 17 years, Purzner said she has acquired banking and bookkeeping skills, as well as property tax and assessment knowledge.

Purzner moved to Kewaunee in April 1995. Any fears about moving to a new community "were quickly put to rest as the residents of Kewaunee welcomed me and my family," she said. "I would like to give back to the community using all my knowledge and work ethic."

She is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Kewaunee, and while her two children attended Immanuel's School, Purzner volunteered in many ways and also served several years as secretary of the Immanuel School Association. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
