The reigning state dance champs will host this year's east regional competition, and plan to prove for the second year they've got what it takes to make it all the way.

"The (Eastern) region is heavily stacked with strong, traditionally state-winning teams," said Renee Buchholz, head coach for the D.C. Everest dance team, the reigning champions. "We've really got to prove ourselves again; we've set the bar high."

Regionals will be held Jan. 26 at D.C. Everest Senior High School for the first time this year, and Bucholz expects about 4,000 spectators to attend the event, including 1,000 ...
