Kaukauna students rewire, assemble traffic lights at FVTC

Eight Kaukauna High School students took on the job of a city electrician for a few hours Friday, assembling and wiring traffic lights at Fox Valley Technical College's Sustainable Technology Center.

The freshmen, sophomores and juniors divided into three teams to rebuild the lights from pieces donated by the city of Appleton. Nels Lawrence, a longtime technical education teacher at Kaukauna High School, said many of his students are fascinated by learning how things work - this group especially, since they had the day off of school.
