'Welcome aboard'

The post-election polls (Edison Research: Harvard School of Public Health) are revealing and much more interesting than pre-election polls. Obama-Democrat-voters considered the economy and healthcare as the two most important issues, and preferred the government to solve their problems. They want to expand Obamacare and make government responsible for all health care.

Government should control all Medicare and Medicaid programs and govern health care costs by regulating insurance, doctors and hospitals. They prefer abortion to be legal in all cases, and want no cuts in spending for Obamacare, Medicare and Medicaid. The deficit can be reduced by raising taxes on big corporations and the wealthy, but do not raise taxes on the"middle class." Defense spending should be cut.

The Bolshevik-Muslim train conductor has shouted to the Democrats: "Welcome aboard!"

New coaches needed

...and another thing!

It's time for coaching changes in Green Bay! Not because we lost Saturday's game but because McCarthy and Capers got out-coached. What worked in 2010 isn't working in 2013. Our coaches admitted before the game that Kaepernick was going to run but they couldn't come up with a way to stop him on game day. Thompson and Murphy need to start making some phone calls to find some new coaches. My choice; Jon Gruden. He is a better coach than a sportscaster and as Archie Bunker says, "He's got some spunk!"

...this is ridiculous, stop it already!

A parting shot

The last sentence of this is true, the rest is fiction. Someone took a snapshot of me with a shot put. The picture looked like a mug shot. Walked into a local bar and sat down. A short time later, within earshot, a patron took a potshot at me. Trying to settle things down, I played a big shot and ordered a round of shots for everyone. After buying several shots, I walked home. The next morning my eyes were bloodshot and I had stomach pains along with a headache. Thought I had a cold and got a flu shot.

Most of these shots will not kill you, most gun shots will.

Traffic flow

The traffic lights in downtown Manitowoc are set up to help speed up the flow of traffic. For instance, traffic heading north on Eighth Street, where it intersects with Washington Street, only gets a green light if you make the cycle. If you get there a little late you must wait for the lights to make another cycle. The same occurs with westbound traffic at both Franklin and Eighth, and at Maritime Drive and Eighth. The sensors haven't been working for weeks.

I'm sure many of you who drive through town have noticed delays. The delays are caused because the lights are running a full cycle whether there is traffic present or not. Now that we know the reason for the delays, all we need to know is the reason for the delays.

Put building elsewhere

The members of the Manitowoc City Council who are trying to shove government's will down the throats of the residents in the Cleveland Avenue area are hypocrites! Not a single council person would want a business moving in and disrupting the quiet and beauty of their neighborhood, so why vote for it here?

(Don't give me the line of bull about increasing the tax base; that same building could be put elsewhere!) As for the council person who does live (part-time) in a mixed residential/business district, one would think his Republican/Tea Party ideals would be enough to say "do the will of the people."
