Women's hockey: Pointers slip past Eau Claire

Sometimes one goal is enough, and that was the case for the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point women's hockey team Friday night.

Nikki Kloes scored early in the second period and former Mosinee athlete Hillary Drake stopped all 15 shots she faced to give the Pointers a 1-0 win over UW-Eau Claire in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association action at Ice Hawks Arena.

After the teams combined for just nine shots on goal in the opening period, UWSP got its offense going with 17 shots n the next period. ...
