Stormwater tanks get green light at Appleton East

Two giant underground stormwater tanks will be installed at Appleton East High School this summer after Appleton's council gave final financial support for the project.

One of the tanks will be built under East's Emmers Drive parking lot and the other under the John Street parking lot next year. Together, they will hold 4.6 million gallons of water.

The $8 million project needed a final vote Wednesday after bids came in higher than the allocated $7.2 million approved in Appleton's 2013 budget. ...
