The newly revamped art-deco style Capitol Hill Hotel near the Library of Congress recently converted its old management offices into a library.

It's not a fancy or particularly extensive library, but book lovers and history buffs may like picking up "Pride and Prejudice" or a leather-bound volume of United States Supreme Court Reports and sitting on the tufted couch.

"The (new space) gives guests a chance to congregate instead of staying in their rooms," said Ian Harvey, the hotel's general manager. "They can play cards, hold a meeting or read a good book." ...
