No news value in salaries list

I can only describe my feelings this morning as disgust when I opened the paper to find your latest blast against organized labor - the publication of teachers' salaries. What good purpose is served by this? What news value is found in such an effort? I expect that this will be followed up with a detailed listing of the pay (salary, bonus, stock holding, investment income, pension payment, health benefit, etc.) of every resident of the Northeastern Wisconsin area - from senator to congressional intern, from bank president to teller, from hospital administrator to waiting room receptionist, from doctor to nurse, from senator to school board member, from Wall Street investor to letter carrier, etc.

The best place to begin is to list the income (all pay and benefits including stock options) of everyone associated with the Press-Gazette, from owner to reporter, from editor to janitor.
