Being sick as a child had it's high and low points. Of course, it was never fun feeling icky, but if you had to, getting special treatment was a perk. I remember getting Popsicles and ice cream after I had my tonsils removed and spending time at grandma and grandpa's house while suffering from chicken pox.

Early last week, my daughter Liliann was less than her perky self. A call from daycare later informed me she had developed a fever.
